Hey, I’m Tommy.
Photog. Dad. Sports buff.
You probably won’t believe this, but as a kid I kinda…hated photography. Oof. Let me explain.
I was born into a photographer family. My dad was the photographer/ salesman and my mom ran the backend with the printing lab. If we had stopped off at ONE MORE broken down wooden fence in the middle of nowhere to take pictures on a family road trip…
Fast forward to my college years when an opportunity arose to shoot sports for the local newspaper. Armed with little more than inherited equipment and a knack for capturing athletic action, I quickly fell in love with the art. And the rest is history!
In 2010, I started my first photography business, T5 Photography. I’ve been honing my craft ever since, and am SO excited to start this journey into sports photography.
My work as a photographer is defined by my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Making people feel comfortable in front of my lens is the foundation to my work. I could be the greatest technical photographer in the world… but if I was a total weirdo, that’s what you’d remember from your session. Whether bringing out raw emotion from my subjects or providing direction to athletes, my aim is to create images that resonate deeply. I’m not just here to capture rad photos for the ‘Gram (although you’re going to want to share your images). I am here to capture emotion. I want you to look back at these photos in years to come and remember the emotional space you experienced all those years before.
If you can’t tell by now, I’m a passionate guy. My passion gives me the ability to connect with athletes, as I’ve been one myself, my whole life. I want to provide for athletes today what I wish I could have had at that age. My passion, my direction and my ability to connect leaves clients at ease, allowing their true selves to shine through my lens.
I don’t want to just take an athlete’s photo…
I want to capture who they are.
Playfulness or intensity, it should all shine through.
Not only have I had a camera in hand for over 13 years, I also coach varsity baseball at Thomas Jefferson High School, my alma mater. Sports has been my life growing up and now as a dad of four, I am now coaching my kiddos as well!
At the end of the day, capturing these moments is so important to me. I believe that a huge part of who we truly are is revealed when we play a sport, and my job is to help capture that truth and preserve it in time.
Please reach out if you would like to work together! I’d love to hear from you.
Fun Facts About Me 📸
If you’re gonna trust me to capture your essence as an athlete, the least I can do is offer the tea on what makes me tick.

My family has had the same sourdough starter for well over 100 years now! My favorite thing to make with it is sourdough pancakes. You wouldn't think that they would be the best pancakes ever, however, you would be wrong. They're the best. My kids can vouch.

Sunset! Unless it's for a baseball game or to photograph a sunrise, you wont find me anywhere but my bed before sunrise. (Or unless my kids wake me up!)

My superpower would be to manipulate time. To pause time, to fast forward, rewind and I can take anyone with me. With 4 kids, running a business and coaching...time is my currency!

I've thought a lot about this. In the event of a Zombie Apocalypse, you’ll want to come find me because I'll be ready to rock. I think if I had to choose one celebrity, it'd probably be Martha Stewart. She'd cook or craft her way out of some bad situations...and I'll do the rest.
